Ski Boot Mondo Sizing - What does it Mean?

Getting the right ski boots are critical for a great day on the slopes or in the mountains. We are are here to do our very best to make sure you get the perfect fit.  There are a few ways to get that good fit but the best place to start is looking into your shoe sizing.  Mostly all ski boots will use mondo point for their sizing. This is the length of the boot’s inner sole length in centimeters. You can measure the base of your foot from toe to heel to work out yours.

When you try boots on keep a few things in mind:

  • Wear Ski Socks or the socks you will be skiing in - these can make a large difference in the fit. Try to avoid thick hiking socks
  • The time of day and our liquid intake can cause our feet to swell - the later in the day the larger the foot might feel
  • When standing straight, your toes should brush the end of the boots, but they shouldn't be crammed - snug but not painful
  • When flexing your knees and walking around your heels should stay down. There should be no slopping or movement inside the boot
  • The structure of your foot can affect the fit - are you flat-footed or high arched?
  • Walk around and stand in the boots for at least 20 minutes when you try them on

Note: Sizes are not always uniform by brand or even from one model to another.
