Pants & Shorts
Convertible Pants: with a zipper on each leg (just above the knee) these pants are able to be converted into shorts when the temperature rises. This type of pant also saves on space and weight if you are carrying your gear.
Insulated Pants: insulated pants are a soft shell pant which offers wind protection while having a thermal insulation layer on the inside. This offers additional warmth, making them a good option during the colder months of winter and autumn.
Quick Drying Pants: these pants are ideal for summer/spring conditions as they are highly wicking, therefore they tend to dry out much faster than standard pants. However, these are generally shells which are thin pants which are therefore not suitable for the cold days of winter. During autumn it is possible to wear a thermal base layer underneath the pants for warmth.
Wet Conditions: if you think you might encounter heavy rain on your travels it is a good idea to carry an over trouser with you. These are waterproof, fast drying pants which go over top of your pants to create a waterproof barrier.
