As it is almost indestructible, the Mercator knife was passed on from generation to generation. It's flat, light, compact and exceptional at holding an edge. The small knife from the Mercator series has the same properties as its big brother, but it is not lockable. Thanks to its flat design, the small Mercator is a handy knife that could fit into pretty much any trouser pocket.

HISTORY:
The Mercator knife, originating in Solingen, has remained virtually unchanged for well over 100 years. Initially crafted by the "Mercator" Indiawerk Heinrich Kaufmann & Söhne, it gained favor with Kaiser Wilhelm's army despite not being designed for military use, earning it the moniker "Kaiser Wilhelm Messer." These knives became popular in the NZ from pockets of soldiers returning from Europe after WWII. Known for its durability, it has been passed down through generations. Since 1995, OTTER-Messer has continued its production in Solingen, maintaining its original shape and qualities: reliability, sturdiness, and practicality.
